It is another stormy day here ! We put up our Christmas lights early this morning.
The scent of a neighbor’s fireplace kept us warm, as we enjoyed the scent of the first fires of the season. We have new lights this year and they came all tangled up, so we spent a lot of time in the cold untangling them. Thank goodness for that warming scent wafting over us from time to time.
As an added super- bonus, Destiny and Patience stopped by, and watched as we hung the lights. It was so nice. They had raven things to do, but I appreciated the short visit.
Rich came by to help with our leftovers, and I am happy we won’t be wasting anything.
In the good old days it would go ta a variety of different critters, both domestic, and wild.
The Buzz isn’t much help at all, but he will eat pie crusts as if there is no tomorrow. It is so fun for him. He likes pumpkin too, and a little stuck to the crust is gobbled up first. He has a certain order of eating so he does not end up with “pumpkin feet.” Pumpkin feet are almost as bad as “spaghetti sauce” feet, but not quite.
He is not happy with his current food, and will stir it will his face constantly so I get the message. If I don’t get the first message he will start chucking the food all over the floor, the little bastard. I swear I think he like to watch me sweep up his mess. It makes him feel so superior. “Go fetch your broom kitchen wench, and clean this mess up!”
He is that kind of guy though, you know? And he loved violent movies too. He was so into “The Irishman” last night.
Good times are ahead as hubby works on plumbing. I tell ya. Homes and bodies need constant upkeep. It never ends. I am typing as the plumbing is going on. I have no idea how this man can fix every single thing under the sun, while I can not even sew a button on. The dreamer and the realist to extremes. I am Liquid Plumber, and he is “Gotta use my rooter”. I am , “Oooh glass cleaner works so well on everything” ,and he is “Glass cleaner is for glass. Nothing else ever. Glass.”.
We more often than not bring a tangible balance to each other, but there are times we will butt heads. This is what life is. It is never perfect. But it is always awesome. How boring perfect would be over a long stretch of time.
As always I am looking forward to having dinner. We skipped right over lunch. Hubby could go days and forget to eat. I can go twenty minutes, and be hungry again. I am so glad my son picked up the food. I ate as much meat as I possibly could, and had to switch back to my meatless ways pronto. This way, knowing I am not wasting, I can do that without guilt.
I am having coffee. My favorite is instant coffee. I got used to it when Mom was staying with us. I used to poke fun at her for having three scoops of it in her cup. Well, now I am a three scooper too, and no K- cup or brew can really compete with this magical ratio.
I tried using a coffee press this morning, because I had run out of instant. I got it nice and strong, but the coffee was too fine for the press. I have been plucking coffee grounds out of my teeth all day haha. Not really, but still, I won’t be doing that again anytime soon.
I really hope everyone had a nice cozy Thanksgiving. Though we can’t always get to see everyone we want to, it doesn’t mean they aren’t in our hearts on this day.
Fortunately for my daughter and her husband, they have figured out a way to visit both sides of the family on holidays. That is so wonderful. It is so nice to be loved by so many, but when you have to chose between them, someone always gets hurt, and someone always feels guilty.
Well. I love you peeps. All you. And I don’t need any back.
In fact, if your love is based on how much a person weighs, how famous they are, what clothes they where, where they live, status, race, religion, gender, fame, fortune, poularity ,I am TOTALLY NOT interested in your fake love anyway.
